Sunekos vs Profhilo

Sunekos vs Profhilo

As we age, our skin’s Extracellular Matrix (ECM) degenerates and loses the structural elements, such as collagen and elastin. Both elements are crucial for all tissues and organs development. Calculated in medical studies, at least 70% of degenerative pathologies are due to an imbalance of the homeostasis of the ECM. With particular regards to the skin in the ageing process, our skin has a substantial reduction in fibroblast and metabolic activities. Hence, causing our skin to sag, sunk and allowing the fine lines to be more visible.

You must be thinking, what are the ways to regenerate ECM, resolving crepey or sagging skin and fine lines?

Introduction

At Shens Clinic, we are excited to be one of the first clinics in Southeast Asia and Singapore to offer SUNEKOS® as the au courant injectable treatment containing the patented formula of Amino Acids and Hyaluronic Acid. SUNEKOS® focuses on the regeneration of the dermal tissue dermal biogenesis through rejuvenating the ECM.

How SUNEKOS® works as an injectable?

In short, the SUNEKOS® treatment aids in stimulating the fibroblasts in the ECM of the skin and enabling the skin’s regenerative capabilities. Thus, resulting in the production of new collagen and elastin at the treated areas. The skin becomes firm and strengthened as the patented formula provides nutrients needed to produce ECM.

The SUNEKOS® treatment is effective in lightening dark eye circles, reducing the overall appearance of wrinkles and providing volume to crepey skin, as well as sunken facial features. The treatment also helps to hydrate the treated tissues.

SUNEKOS® can help you to achieve the desirable volumising effect.

What is the difference between SUNEKOS® and Profhilo?

In comparison to SUNEKOS®, Profhilo is a hyaluronic acid gel product, unlike SUNEKOS®, which comes in the form of liquids (amino acids and hyaluronic acid). Both SUNEKOS® and Profhilo are effective in treating skins which have lost elasticity and firmness due to ageing.

However, despite the similarity in the above treatment benefits, each treatment has its considerable differences. Without further ado, let us take a look at each product.

Skin Texture and Hydration

When injected, Profhilo provides a lifting effect by boosting the volume of the treated areas and restores the overall integrity of the skin, but it does not improve skin texture.

In contrast, SUNEKOS® helps you to achieve the desirable volumising effect on the treated areas, reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and further deeply hydrate the dermis layer. Thus, resulting in a plump and more youthful visage.

Skin Suitability & Applicability

Profhilo is generally suited for individuals who are experiencing slight signs of skin ageing, and the treatment can only be applied on the lower and the neck.

In comparison to Profhilo, SUNEKOS® is better suited for slightly more challenging skin such as severe wrinkles, sun-damaged and crepey skin. Moreover, the SUNEKOS® treatment can be applied to multiple areas, such as the region around the eyes, face, neck, chest, hands and lips.

Treatment Frequency

Profhilo is a two-part treatment, which the patient would need to return for a session 1 month apart from the initial session.

As to SUNEKOS®, it is a four-part treatment, with each session 7 – 10 days apart.

Lastly, both Profhilo and SUNEKOS® also require repeated treatment after 6 – 9 months.

Price

In short, SUNEKOS® is a more cost-effective treatment compared to Profhilo. In general, Profhilo tends to cost much more than SUNEKOS® per cc (1 cc is equivalent to 1 milliliter (ml)) and still achieve the safe and desired results that you wanted. Hence, trial prices are currently available at our clinic.

With the information above, we hope that you have gained a better understanding of the two listed treatments.
