How does botox injection work?
Botox are purified form of botulinum toxin A, a type of bacteria that stops the muscle from contracting; paralyzing the muscle and stopping it from wrinkling, creating vertical or horizontal frown lines and others.
Pain is only felt during the injection, but otherwise, botox injection is a non-invasive procedure and does not cause any pain of sort.
It is safe in general , however, there are certain side effects that comes with botox injection. Some of the side effects includes, headaches, bruising, pain on the point of injection and some rare cases, droopy eyelids or eyebrows but will return back to its normal shape within days.
Pre-procedure
It is best to stop any blood thinning medication at least two weeks before the procedure.
Post-procedure
There might be certain tightness to the affected area after the injection, but it will naturally soothe out once everything is settled in nicely in a few short days.
