Fractional CO2
During the treatment, pulses of light pass through the upper layer of skin. Each pulse delivers a column of energy that can reach the skin’s dermal layer. This stimulates a natural renewal process of the body’s own collagen. As the laser beam has been fractionized, small areas of untreated skin will be left between the treated spots which will accelerate the healing process.
Fractional CO2 Laser Treatment Areas includes:
During the procedure, patients may feel some slight pain and discomfort, which can be greatly reduced with the topical anesthesia. Immediately after the fractional co2 laser procedure, there may be some swelling and redness on the treated area.
Expected downtime averages from *3 to 7 days, depending on the energy and intensity of the fractional co2 laser treatment done. Peeling of dried/dead skin starts around the 4th or 5th day.
It is advisable to avoid sun exposure. Ample amount of sun block and moisturizer should be applied at all times. Do not attempt to peel or rub off the dried / dead skin forcefully, but let it naturally peel by itself during washing of face.
Improvements usually can be seen after the 1st fractional CO2 laser treatment, however, multiple sessions may be required depending on the needs of various individuals. Smoother and more even tone skin will be revealed around the 7th day or once the peeling is completed.
When you come by we will assess your skin to recommend other lasers if necessary as well. It is impossible to tell you about all the lasers as there are just too many in the market. For a start, the fractional lasers can cause a lot more improvement and that is why I recommended it first.
We can get you a medical certificate but there are now concealers that can let you go to work the same day after laser treatment. These concealers are colour matched and are sold at our clinic.
There are other treatments such as subcision and fat grafting as well but it is best that you come down for a consultation.
